Our breakfasts were amazing & you certainly did not go away hungry. The pancakes with wild blueberries were fabulous as was the fresh homemade bread with wild blueberry jam.
I must say that both Bev & her partner John were very accommodating & friendly.
We would return again to this B&B and highly recommend it to anyone.
The Bear and Butterfly Bed and Breakfast, located in Gravenhurst proved to be a welcome oasis from the current pressures of politics, pundits and pandemic problems we have all been forced to endure. Our host Beverley, has infused her accommodations with Old World charm, influenced by her Canadian roots and British upbringing. Before you realize itโs happening, you get the sense of being home away from home. The location is surrounded by forests and the drive in, whether from the north or south, gives you a hint of what is in store. You will arrive at a place that quietly exudes peace.
While enjoying Beverleyโs hearty home-made breakfasts, she may optionally regale you with the history of the surrounding area, replete with how the BandB came into being. She is also an encyclopedic treasure trove of information about local points of interest and the best places to eat in the area, having seen and tasted most things for herself.
This establishment fully abides by the current Federal and Provincial Covid guidelines, but you will still be made to feel very comfortable and very welcomed. If you are looking for a place to just relax and read a book, go for nature walks, or sample the local food scene, the Bear and the Butterfly will make for an excellent starting point.
