We just returned from a 3 night stay at this very quaint & quiet B&B. Our amazing host Bev greeted us when we arrived & escorted us to the large Bear room with a very large bathroom as well. Very clean & it had everything we needed. Comfy bed too.

Our breakfasts were amazing & you certainly did not go away hungry. The pancakes with wild blueberries were fabulous as was the fresh homemade bread with wild blueberry jam.
I must say that both Bev & her partner John were very accommodating & friendly.
We would return again to this B&B and highly recommend it to anyone.

We were looking for a few days of rest from the hectic pace our lives were involved with, when we discovered a secluded hideaway not too far off the beaten path in the environs of Muskoka.

The Bear and Butterfly Bed and Breakfast, located in Gravenhurst proved to be a welcome oasis from the current pressures of politics, pundits and pandemic problems we have all been forced to endure. Our host Beverley, has infused her accommodations with Old World charm, influenced by her Canadian roots and British upbringing. Before you realize itโ€™s happening, you get the sense of being home away from home. The location is surrounded by forests and the drive in, whether from the north or south, gives you a hint of what is in store. You will arrive at a place that quietly exudes peace.

While enjoying Beverleyโ€™s hearty home-made breakfasts, she may optionally regale you with the history of the surrounding area, replete with how the BandB came into being. She is also an encyclopedic treasure trove of information about local points of interest and the best places to eat in the area, having seen and tasted most things for herself.

This establishment fully abides by the current Federal and Provincial Covid guidelines, but you will still be made to feel very comfortable and very welcomed. If you are looking for a place to just relax and read a book, go for nature walks, or sample the local food scene, the Bear and the Butterfly will make for an excellent starting point.

This was our very first B&B experience. I have to say, I worry that it will all be downhill from here! From the moment you arrive, Bev greets you like family and you feel like you're back home for a visit! We stayed in the Butterfly room, and it was clean, well appointed and had a very comfortable bed as well as a reclining loveseat. Bev will feed you enough in the morning to last you all day! The options and quality will rival any restaurant. Security is extremely high on the required guest things to do. We felt 100% safe at all times. We have already spoken to Bev about booking for next July. As an added bonus Trini the cat is the perfect ambassador for the Bear & Butterfly. Honestly, can't recommend this place enough! Thanks Bev for a truly wonderful time!
